Seeing in the dark - The wonders of God

Have you ever tried to walk in the Karoo late at night when the sun has gone and it’s only the moon and the Milkyway of stars?

This weekend my family and I went on a midnight walk and were instructed not to bring along torches or lights – did I mention we were in the middle of the Karoo? Well, you can imagine our reaction. HELL NO, we want torches! We never won and were forced go without lights.

Now, I am so grateful that we gave in; it was truly breath-taking to see how God has designed our body to adapt to any situation. There we were in the middle of nowhere with no light and we were scared as hell. However, the longer we walked in the dark the clearer our vision became.

We are so reliant on the manmade things - like torches - that we forget about the miracles and power God has given each of us. We ended up walking for about an hour with no light and we didn’t even miss it. We looked around us and were amazed by the beauty of the night sky and how our eyes adjusted to darkness.

Lesson: Sometimes we need to put what is manmade aside and just rely on our God!

The beautiful night sky :)
